For a single-day event, we recommend getting your spray tan 2 days prior. If that's not possible, aim for at least 24 hours before to allow the tan to fully develop. (For example, avoid tanning late at night if your event is the next morning.) For vacations or multi-day events, tan as close to your departure as possible so it lasts through the entire trip. We use rapid solutions, which require specific rinse times but still take 24 hours to fully develop: Light tan: Rinse after 1–2 hours Medium tan: Rinse after 3–4 hours Dark tan: Rinse after 5+ hours Please keep these timing guidelines in mind when booking, especially if you'll need a shower soon after your appointment. The spray tan itself takes about 10 minutes. Returning clients are typically in and out in 10–15 minutes. In a hurry? You can help speed things up by arriving with no products on your skin, all jewelry removed, and your waiver filled out prior to your appointment. What happens during the appointment? Each Airbrush Tan appointment begins with a quick consultation. New clients: We'll assess your skin type and tanning goals. Returning clients: We'll review your previous tan and make any needed adjustments. Protective wear such as hair nets, disposable thongs, nose filters, nipple covers, and eye wear are all available upon request. Before tanning, we apply a hydrating prep spray to balance your skin’s pH and use barrier cream on dry areas, if needed. Your tan will be applied by one of our trained spray tan artists. Afterward, we’ll: Blend hands, feet, and any blemishes for a natural finish Wipe palms and nails to remove excess solution Apply our custom finishing powder to reduce stickiness and help you feel fresh How do I prepare for a spray tan? PREPERATION: Use an exfoliating mitt to scrub your entire body the day before your appointment. Removing dead skin helps your tan apply evenly & last longer. Pay extra attention to dry areas like the ankles, tops of your hands & feet, knees, elbows, as well as areas that are often skipped over such as your neck, chest, and underarms. Exfoliating mitts are available for purchase in our salons & on our website. Use a gel-based body wash in the shower as the final step to remove any residue from conditioner, soap, or shaving. Avoid showering too close to your appointment. Your last shower should not be less than 2 hours before your appointment. HAIR REMOVAL: Shaving: Shave before your appointment and wash thoroughly to remove all shaving cream or oil residue. If you have coarse hair, shave the day before to prevent bronzer settling in follicles. Waxing: Do at least 48 hours before your session. Sugaring: Same-day is fine, but remove all residue and avoid oil-based aftercare. Laser Hair Removal: Must be done 2 days prior, with no irritation present. OTHER SERVICES: Schedule manicures, pedicures, facials, or massages 1–2 days before your tan. PRODUCTS TO AVOID: Bar soaps, oil-based products, & creamy body washes (like Dove or Olay) can block your tan from developing. If used, lather in a loofah or washcloth to avoid buildup. Products from Aveeno & Sol de Janerio can turn your tan grey. Skip deodorant, heavy lotions, oils, & perfume. If needed, ask for a wipe to remove deodorant before your tan. You may use Hempz, Cetaphil, or CeraVe lotions—just avoid their thick creams or oils. What should I do the day of my appointment? Shower 2 or more hours prior to your tan. Showering immediately before tanning can result in a lighter than desired tan. Be mindful of any possible residue that might not rinse completely away (i.e. hair conditioner, soap, moisture strip from shaving). It's best to wash your body with a gel-like body wash as the very last step to ensure all residue is washed off your skin. Creamy body washes like Dove and Oil of Olay can create a barrier on the skin, which can sometimes lead to a lighter than desired tan. If this is all you have available, we recommend applying the cleanser to a puff or wash clothe, and lathering it into a thin but sudsy foam BEFORE applying it to your body. (Applying the soap directly to your skin will definitely leave a thick residue, you must dilute the cleanser). Avoid all bar soaps and oil based products. Avoid wearing deodorant to your appointment, if possible. If this is not an option, you may wear deodorant, but be sure to request a wipe so you can scrub it off before tanning. Avoid wearing thick body creams, oils, or perfume to your appointment. You may use the following lotions to your appointment, as they don't cause issues with our tanning solution: Hempz, Cetaphil, Cerave (Do not use their thick creams or oils). What should I wear during my tan? Women may tan in anything they are comfortable in, or wear nothing at all. Disposable thongs are available upon request. Men can wear boxers, briefs, a speedo, or a snug sock over the genitals. We do not tan completely nude males. Please wear loose & comfortable dark clothing after your spray tanning appointment. This will protect your car seat/interior, furniture, etc. as well as protect your tan from skin-to-skin contact or contact with non-breathable surfaces which can ruin your tan. What should I do after my appointment? Post tan: After your tan, you should wear dark loose clothing. We recommend loose long pants and sleeves as it reduces skin-to-skin contact, which can result is unevenness. Do not wear a tight bra or any tight clothing, as it will rub the solution off of your skin. You will rinse at the recommended time, which can range from 60 minutes to overnight. Your first rinse, will be just a QUICK warm water rinse, without soap. You may use your hands to remove the cosmetic bronzer. You will see cosmetic bronzer rinsing away, this is normal and your tan will continue to develop. You may use hydrating body wash during your next regularly scheduled shower, followed by a high quality moisturizer free of mineral oil and petroleum products. You should moisturize from head to toe at least twice per day. Keep your showers quick, cool to warm (not hot), and hand lather to wash - do not use a wash clothe or scrub. If you receive a rapid spray tan, you MUST rinse at the time indicated, or your will be at risk for over development! (Orange!) Your tan will be fully developed around 24 hours post tan. Keep your skin hydrated and moisturized with a lotion that is free of mineral oil, petroleum, ethanol, AHA's, and other exfoliating and alcohol based products, as it will strip your tan. We offer variety of options that will keep your skin hydrated and your tan lasting longer. Avoid long hot showers and baths, Jacuzzis, loofahs and exfoliants of any kind, including waxing and sugaring, until your tan is ready to be removed. Acne and anti-aging products often contain chemical exfoliators, which will cause uneven & premature fading. As always, use a lotion based sunscreen as spray tans do not protect from harmful UV rays. How do I extend the life of my tan? Your spray tan can be extended through proper preparation, first and foremost. Exfoliating thoroughly 2 days in a row BEFORE your spray tan will provide a smooth canvas to start with. From there the use of spray tan safe products is important. Moisturize at least two times per week & stay hydrated from the inside out. Soaps such as Dove, Oil or Olay Irish Spring & Dial should be avoided as we find that it dulls your tan. Using a gentle cleanser & your hands only to lather & wash is the best way to prevent premature fading. Incorporating a tan extender or gradual tanning lotion, is a good investment as it will further extend the life of your tan. Do not use aerosol sunscreens or apply perfume directly to your skin - the alcohol will erode your tan. Avoid excessive exposure to water, friction, sweating & all other forms of exfoliation while maintaining your spray tan. Keep your showers quick and a cool as possible, avoid HOT water and long soaks. How long will my tan last? You can expect your tan to last at least 5 to 7 days depending on your skin preparation and your skin's health. We find that our clients who incorporate our post tan recommendations & spray tan safe products, such as a daily moisturizer & gradual tanning lotion, will maintain a their tan twice as long. With excellent care you can expect your tan to be remain pretty noticeable for the 7-10 days, while gradually getting lighter in the final remaining days. What should I do immediately after my tan has been applied? Avoid water, sweating, exercising, tight clothing & touching your tan until you have rinsed off. Wear dark, loose long sleeve and pants to protect your tan from skin-to-skin contact with non-breathable surfaces as it can cause your tan to develop unevenly. Are spray tans safe? Our tans are performed infront of a high-velocity extraction unit which sucks up the excess spray and filters out the air. In addition, our house solution is made of a unique combination of skin nourishing, natural & hypoallergenic ingredients along with highly purified water & the natural sugar derived tanning agent, DHA. This combination produces beautiful results. Our product is unique & clients can be assured that it contains no scent or parabens. Mint Bronze & Beauty offers protection for the mucous membranes via nose plugs, disposable underwear, lip oil & eye protection, upon request, at no charge should you feel a need to use it. Can I get a spray tan if I'm pregnant? Pregnant women have been spray tanning without issues for decades as there is no known contraindications. We offer various forms of protection including eye wear, nose filters, & an extraction unit that filters the over spray in the air. It is recommended that pregnant women wear underwear during your spray tan. Although our tanning solutions use organic, natural, & hypoallergenic ingredients, we still recommend consulting your doctor if you are in your 1st trimester or if you are experiencing a high risk pregnancy. Does a spray tan protect me from UV rays and sunburn? No, it doesn't! Spray tan solutions do not provide any useful protection against UV rays. We recommend the use of a high quality sunscreen in the form of a lotion, not aerosol. We offer spray tan safe SPF lotions that you can purchase in our studio. Can you cover up my tan lines? We cannot guarantee a perfect blend, but we can certainly improve the appearance and minimize the demarcations. Tan line cover ups require skill, precision, and extra time, to there is an additional $30 fee if your total appointment runs over the originally allocated time. When can I get a manicure, pedicure, massage, my hair or lashes done? You must avoid getting went or touching your tan until you've rinsed off. So, it's best to get a mani/pedis (and any other beauty or wellness treatment) before your tan. If you are getting a treatment done the same day of your tanning appointment, before to do it BEFORE your tan, and remove ALL product residue (lotion, oils, etc.) prior to tanning. If you have another service scheduled after your tan, we are not responsible for any mishaps that occur. Touch ups are available, but we charge a touch up fee of $30 for every 10 minutes (10 minute minimum). How good are the spray tan results? We provide an impressive & natural looking tan on all skin types because we customize your tan based on your natural undertones and tanning goals. MINT TAN LLC MUTUAL NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT This Agreement is made and entered into as of the last date signed below (the “Effective Date”) by and between MINT TAN LLC (MINT), and the party named below ("CONSULTANT"). WHEREAS MINT and Consultant (each, a “Party” and together, the “Parties”) have an interest in participating in discussions to work on branding and products (the “Purpose”) wherein either Party might share information with the other that the disclosing Party considers to be proprietary and confidential to itself (“Confidential Information”); and WHEREAS the Parties agree that Confidential Information of a Party might include, but not be limited to that Party’s: (1) business plans, methods, and practices; (2) personnel, customers, and suppliers; (3) inventions, processes, methods, products, patent applications, and other proprietary rights; or (4) specifications, drawings, sketches, models, samples, tools, computer programs, technical information, data or other related information; NOW, THEREFORE, the Parties agree as follows: 1.) Either Party may disclose Confidential Information to the other Party in confidence provided that the disclosing Party identifies such information as proprietary and confidential either by marking it, in the case of written materials, or, in the case of information that is disclosed orally or written materials that are not marked, by notifying the other Party of the proprietary and confidential nature of the information, such notification to be done orally, by e-mail or written correspondence, or via other means of communication as might be appropriate. 2.) When informed of the proprietary and confidential nature of Confidential Information that has been disclosed by the other Party, the receiving Party (“Recipient”) shall, for a period of three (3) years from the date of disclosure, refrain from disclosing such Confidential Information to any contractor or other third party without prior, written approval from the disclosing Party and shall protect such Confidential Information from inadvertent disclosure to a third party using the same care and diligence that the Recipient uses to protect its own proprietary and confidential information, but in no case less than reasonable care. The Recipient shall ensure that each of its employees, officers, directors, or agents who has access to Confidential Information disclosed under this Agreement is informed of its proprietary and confidential nature and is required to abide by the terms of this Agreement. The Recipient shall promptly notify the disclosing Party of any disclosure of such Confidential Information in violation of this Agreement or of any subpoena or other legal process requiring production or disclosure of said Confidential Information. 3.) All Confidential Information disclosed under this Agreement shall be and remain the property of the disclosing Party and nothing contained in this Agreement shall be construed as granting or conferring any rights to such Confidential Information on the other Party. Each Party shall use Confidential Information only for the Purpose. The Recipient shall honor any request from the disclosing Party to promptly return or destroy all copies of Confidential Information disclosed under this Agreement and all notes related to such Confidential Information. The Parties agree that the disclosing Party will suffer irreparable injury if its Confidential Information is made public, released to a third party, or otherwise used or disclosed in breach of this Agreement and that the disclosing Party shall be entitled to obtain injunctive relief against a threatened breach or continuation of any such breach and, in the event of such breach, an award of actual and exemplary damages from any court of competent jurisdiction. 4.) The terms of this Agreement shall not be construed to limit either Party’s right to develop independently or acquire products or information without use of the other Party’s Confidential Information. The disclosing party acknowledges that the Recipient may currently or in the future be developing information internally, or receiving information from other parties, that is similar to the Confidential Information. Nothing in this Agreement will prohibit the Recipient from developing or having developed for it information, products, concepts, systems or techniques that are similar to or compete with the information, products, concepts, systems or techniques contemplated by or embodied in the Confidential Information provided that the Recipient does not violate any of its obligations under this Agreement in connection with such development. 5.) Notwithstanding the above, the Parties agree that information shall not be deemed Confidential Information and the Recipient shall have no obligation to hold in confidence such information, where such information: (a) Is already known to the Recipient, having been disclosed to the Recipient by a third party without such third party having an obligation of confidentiality to the disclosing Party; or (b) Is or becomes publicly known through no wrongful act of the Recipient, its employees, officers, directors, or agents; or (c) Is independently developed by the Recipient without reference to any Confidential Information disclosed hereunder; or (d) Is approved for release (and only to the extent so approved) by the disclosing Party; or (e) Is disclosed pursuant to the lawful requirement of a court or governmental agency or where required by operation of law (such as the California Public Records Act). 6.) Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to constitute an agency, partnership, joint venture, or other similar relationship between the Parties. 7.) Neither Party will, without prior approval of the other Party, make any public announcement of or otherwise disclose the existence or the terms of this Agreement, unless such disclosure is required pursuant to the lawful requirement of a court or governmental agency or where required by operation of law (such as the California Public Records Act). 8.) Learn the do's and don'ts of how to properly prepare your skin for a spray tan, and how to care for it afterwards, to ensure a long lasting and even fading tan! SPRAY TAN PREPARATION & POST CARE Pre-Tan Prep Exfoliation: Use an exfoliating mitt to scrub your entire body the day before your appointment. Removing dead skin helps your tan apply evenly & last longer. Exfoliating mitts are available for purchase in our salons & on our website. Avoid: Bar soaps, oil-based products, & c reamy body washes (like Dove or Olay) can block your tan from developing. If used, lather in a loofah or washcloth to avoid buildup. Products from Aveeno & Sol de Janerio can turn your tan grey. Hair Removal: Shaving: Shave before your appointment and wash thoroughly to remove all cream or oil residue. If you have coarse hair, shave the day before to prevent bronzer settling in follicles. Waxing: Do at least 48 hours before your session. Sugaring: Same-day is fine, but remove all residue and avoid oil-based aftercare. Laser Hair Removal: Must be done 2 days prior, with no irritation present. Other Services: Schedule manicures, pedicures, facials, or massages 1–2 days before your tan. Day-of Tanning Guideline What to Wear: Women may wear as much or as little as preferred—our trained artists ensure a professional, discreet experience. We provide complimentary disposable thongs & nipple covers upon request. Men should wear briefs, boxers, or a crotch sock. Bring an extra change of loose, dark clothing—preferably long sleeves & pants—to wear immediately after your tan. Skip tight items like bras, jeans, & tennis shoes. Showering: Avoid showering too close to your appointment. Your last shower should not be less than 2 hours before your appointment. Use a gel-based body wash as the final step to remove any residue from conditioner, soap, or shaving. Avoid bar soaps, oil-based products, & creamy washes (like Dove or Olay) as they can block the tan. If used, lather in a loofah or washcloth to avoid buildup. Continue to avoid p roducts from Aveeno & Sol de Janerio, as they can turn your tan grey. Skip deodorant, heavy lotions, oils, & perfume. If needed, ask for a wipe to remove deodorant before your tan. You may use Hempz, Cetaphil, or CeraVe lotions—just avoid their thick creams or oils. Post-Tan Care Before your first rinse: Immediately after your tan, wear long, loose, dark clothing. Avoid tight items like bras, jeans, & tennis shoes . Avoid skin-to-skin contact, sweating, getting wet, & exercising to prevent streaking or uneven results. Your first rinse: Rinse at the recommended time to avoid overdevelopment. Your first rinse is water-only—no soap. Gently use your hands to remove the cosmetic bronzer until the water runs clear. Your tan will fully develop within 24 hours. Maintenance tips: Use a hydrating, non-oil-based body wash & moisturize twice daily with products free of mineral oil, petroleum, alcohol, AHAs, or exfoliants. Avoid soaps such as Irish Spring & Dial as they can dull your tan. Keep showers short & lukewarm—no loofahs or scrubs. Pat dry with a towel — avoid excessive rubbing. Avoid excessive water exposure like hot baths & Jacuzzis, or any form of exfoliation including waxing or sugaring until you're ready to remove your tan. Be cautious with acne & anti-aging products, as they may fade your tan unevenly. Avoid spraying perfume, cologne, & aerosol sunscreen directly to skin as the alcohol will erode your tan. Spray tans do not contain SPF, so always apply a lotion-based sunscreen. Sunscreen is available for purchase in our salons & on our website. Incorporating a tan extender or gradual tanning lotion, can extend the life of your tan. Tan extenders are available for purchase in our salons or on our website. Other Frequently Asked Questions Are spray tans safe? Our house solution is made up of a blend of organic, natural ,and hypoallergenic ingredients along with highly purified water (aqua) and the natural sugar derived tanning agent, DHA. Our product does not contain any alcohol, oils, perfumes, parabens, or artificial preservatives. This is critical to the health of your skin, as these chemicals are drying, causes itching, dry patches, & cracking-appearance of the tanned skin. To avoid the inhalation of any chemicals, we offer protection for the mucous membranes via nose plugs & eye protection, upon request, at no charge should you feel a need to use it. How long will my tan last? Most people can expect their tan to last for 5 to 7 days depending on skin type and preparation. Clients who incorporate our recommended maintenance tips (including a low pH soap, daily moisturizer, & gradual tanning lotion) can maintain their tan for 2 weeks. Will the spray tan stain my clothes, sheets, or furniture? In most cases, our tanning solution will not stain clothing and any slight rub-off should come out in the wash. However, some staining may occur on some light colored or sensitive fabrics & materials, therefore we recommend wearing long, dark, loose clothing while your tan is developing to avoid any staining on furniture or sheets. How good are the spray tan results? Each appointment will begin with a brief consultation so we can fully understand your tanning goals.
